AMPYR Energy USA names James Donahue as General Counsel
NEW YORK, August 28, 2024 – AMPYR Energy USA (AMPYR) has expanded its executive team with the hiring of James Donahue as General Counsel. James, based in Long Beach, CA, will oversee all legal affairs and compliance for AMPYR, which invests in, develops, operates and manages renewable energy assets and provides sophisticated financing, supply and risk-management strategies for large-scale power users.
Prior to joining AMPYR, James served as General Counsel at both NextGrid and Advantage Renewables (a development platform sponsored by Advantage Capital and Sumitomo Corporation of Americas), working with the management teams to provide advice on a wide range of legal issues impacting renewable energy development, finance, investments and operations. His other prior work experience includes assignments at Avantus (formerly 8minute Solar Energy), Hanwha Q Cells USA and Milbank LLP.
James earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College.
