Junior Project Developer

Ampyr Energy USA (Ampyr) is seeking a Junior Project Developer to join our growing team in North America focusing on the rapidly growing renewable energy sector. This position supports various development processes and tasks through the project lifecycle for Solar PV and hybrid (PV + BESS) projects. Job responsibilities will include analytical and project development support for both greenfield, co-development and acquired projects. This person will interact with internal team members and external project development partners on tracking and reporting project schedules, budgets, spend and other critical development matters. Additionally, this person will support origination and analysis of project acquisition opportunities, undertake research, analyses and support workstreams on land, grid, regulatory framework, permitting regime, local incentives, abatements, and support making necessary project filings. Successful applicants will have experience in project development and project management with an ability to research and present data. Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Take guidance to create and update various project reports, summary of deliverables, project budgets, schedules, contracts, and other documents for active projects to meet various stakeholder needs.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly project reviews and drive discussion on progress and project level action items through project trackers
  • Implement and maintain project development and management platform for tracking and reporting project and pipeline level spend, progress, and critical matters for various stakeholder reporting.
  • Maintain project summaries up to date in support of Offtake, Financing, and potential project sale activities.
  • Support project development efforts by undertaking adhoc research at the request of project leads.
  • Maintain project sharepoint libraries and keep them current with all relevant project documents and agreements.
  • Review various project agreements and with the guidance of various subject matter experts create and maintain project compliance register across land, grid, offtake and other relevant areas.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, or major in energy related field or Energy Development education and background
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in renewable energy project development environment
  • Have created, reviewed, and participated in management of contracts, schedules, budgets
  • Understanding of project financial models
  • Have proficiency with MS Project or other project management and budgeting platforms like Monday.com, Smartsheets, Zoho etc.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Power Point)
