AMPYR Energy USA (AMPYR) is seeking Financial Controller, to join our growing team in North America focusing on the rapidly growing renewable energy sector.

The role offers the opportunity to work in a growth environment offering a path to career development, working for a joint venture created between two large multinational parent companies.

We are looking for an individual with strong technical accounting background, with experience in public accounting, financial statement preparation, audits, and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders in the process.

Responsibilities     

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Financial Management: Oversee all accounting and financial activities, including budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.

  • Financial and management accounting for the entire US business including project SPVs, holding companies and management companies.
  • Management accounts preparation.
  • Supervising accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting departments
  • Managing all aspects of the general ledger
  • Preparing and consolidating financial statements
  • Dealing with sales taxes, corporate taxes and tax inspections.

Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making and drive operational efficiency.

  • Providing monthly, quarterly and year-end analyses including analyzing and reporting cost variances
  • Budgeting: Lead the annual budgeting and planning process, working closely with department heads to establish financial goals and objectives.
  • Budgeting and P&L and cash flow forecasting.

Strategic Planning: Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic financial plans that align with the company’s overall goals and objectives.

Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with external stakeholders, such as auditors, lenders, and investors.

  • Liaising with the external auditor for the consolidated group audit.
  • Assisting external accountants and tax functions for annual reporting.
  • Monitoring, reporting and forecasting for lender relationships.

Policy Development: Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and safeguard company assets. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to ensure compliance and inform business decisions.

  • Establishing and maintaining internal controls and FP&A processes as required
  • Assisting with the continual development of the financial reporting systems.
  • Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • 5 -10 years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Renewables/ Solar business experience
  • Strong Excel & PowerPoint; knowledge of Excel macros would be beneficial
  • Strong analytical, technology, and communication skills
  • Experience working with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms would be an advantage
